so I bought the high gain antenna......HELP!!!

    this must seem like a total noob question but I don't want to break my router.

    I have a WAG54GS and I got a HGA7S high gain antenna to increase signal strength. but however I try I can't get the damn old one off. how am i supposed to do it

    Hello - I have a similar WRT54GL and also intend fitting a high-gain antenna - can anyone tell me what type of connection I would need to fit onto where the original antenna comes off - thanks.

    sorry for not answering for so long. the connectors appear differently but I'm sure I read this antenna works with my modem in the UK Linksys website. here are some pics if they help

    Those pictures you have provided is of the non-removable antenna. If you take a close look at the antenna where the hindge is you will see a small coaxial cable inside coming from the router to the antenna.

    Which is the same antenna that is on the WRTSL54GS.

    And to belleekbeetle:

    Look at the above picture that Esquire provided. That is the case design for all of the WRT54G/ GS/ GL routers.
    I have a WRT54GL ver. 1.1 and the antennas do come off, and the connector is a TNC style.

    RP-TNC male is what screws onto the back of the WRT radios. Check this http://www.hyperlinktech.com/ website for all the connector info and products you need.
