Solution for VOIP over a shared wifi network?

I have a question: I am sharing an internet connection with my neighbour - he has cable internet and sends if via wifi to my apartment. I have a USB wifi adapter connected to my PC to be connected. Now I am thinking about signing up for VOIP, but don't want to use a USB phone connected to my PC (don't want to have my PC running all the time). Therefore, I am looking for a solution how to connect both my PC and a VOIP adapter to my shared wifi connection. Can anyone help as far as what devices I would need? I assume I will need a 'bridge' and a VOIP adapter, can I use the WRT54G as that? Is there maybe a simplier solution? Thank you.
