Some Questions?

    what are these firmware things and what do they do? if i put them on my router is there any chance it would mess it up? thanks

    Best thing to do is to read the release announcements of each of the different firmwares and see what features each of them provides.

    Basically you shouldn't bother changing your firmware version unless you want to use the extra features or you want to play around.

    Have fun!

    HyperWRT is one of the closest to the Linksys official firmwares
    Sveasoft and DD-WRT have lots and lots of fun features!

    Careful to check the version of your WRT to see with which version of firmware it is compatible, read carefully the firmware upgrade tips and read how to de-brick a WRT if you have any problems.
