another case of Windows XP sp2 connection limiting...
    checkout the other thread http://www.linksysinfo.org/forums/showthread.php?t=54604
btw I have bittorrent constantly running and I don't have any lags you should prioritize
the game's packet through QOS rules if you could be more specific I can help you with that
maximum connections should be set to 2096 it's more than enough and will prevent the router
    from keeping inactive connections..

Run your game all by itself with no other computers or programs running and see if you still have a problem (with QOS disabled). Fixing the wrong thing takes much longer than finding and fixing the real problem.

i suspect your isp's connection :p or your proximity from whatever server you're connecting to

Connect your computer directly to the ISP with no router and repeat the test above.

If you have done a good NVram clear and have turned off QOS, there is nothing else you can do to speed the packets up. I've seen routers go bad before.

Just to make sure we are all on the same page, what game is it?

The reason I ask is that some games use UDP instead of TCP connections to move data. I play one such game (Asheron's Call) and the tricks to make things faster for one might not work for the other.
