WOAH WOAH WOAH - I just tried out the TCP Optimizer in the download section, and now my speed is nearly 11 mbps! Is this okay? i want to make sure that this won't stress the laod on the router now

    Hi all,

I have a WRT54G v1.1 router, and I shouldn't be complaining, but I'm not the happiest wth my speeds. From the internet, on a wired PC, i get around 10 mbps, however, on wireless, I only get 3 mbps. For network tranfers on wireless, I get no more than 8.

This is for however close I am to the router.. even in the same room.
I have the latest firmware and I've tried changing the beacon interval to 50, MTU to 1100, and Frag/RTS to 2304, but it didn't help at all. I use WPA-TKIP security, and disabling security altogether didn't affect it either.

Any ideas? I can assume I won't be getting all the way up to 54 mbps, but after all, isn't that supposed to be my limit?

I'm the only computer that usually uses the wireless connection.

    Thanks!
