Speed Test at Speedtest or Speakeasy

Executing a speed test through my 20 Mbs/512 Kbs service to Speedtest.net or Speakeasy.net, D/L speeds are as expected.

Upload results run near u/l cap ~480 Kbs for 90% of the test. At 91%, test results instantly become halved to ~270 Kbs for the remainder of the test. This instant reduction is reproducible at any of their mirror sites.

I've cross-checked results at various NDT sites with upload performance consistently in the 480 Kbs range.

My question: Do I have an issue with Tomato, my tuned net stack (Win XP Pro Sp2, Event 4226 patch, AFD tuning,...) or is the u/l performance cut an anomaly with the Speed Test vendors?

Make sure you disable QoS first.
