    WRT54GS v1.0
    DDWRT V22 r2
    Using public key authentication
    Works inside LAN
    ran the following commands:
    #/usr/sbin/iptables -I INPUT 1 -p tcp --dport xxxx -j logaccept
    #nvram set rc_firewall="/usr/sbin/iptables -I INPUT 1 -p tcp --dport xxxx -j logaccept"
    #nvram commit
Still can't access ssh server from remote site
    Connection is timing out
Tried from work and a cafe without any success

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in Advance!

You can accomplish what you want from the GUI, no need for setting nvram variables from the command line.

Assuming that ssh is listening on port X and your router has a LAN IP address of, simply go to the port forwarding page in the GUI and forward port X to and you're done!

I do this all the time in v22 and it works great. :thumb:
