    Hello,

since 3 days I´ve read a lot about how to use the linksys WRT54GL as a standalone hotspot with captive portal, but with no satisfactory result.

I´ve tried a lot of firmware, for example the tomato raf with his captive portal solution, the dd-wrt, the coova-firmware, special for hotspot, ewrt, and other, but none of them works very well as standalone hotspot.

Does anyone have experience with this theme?

And if nobody does have a recomendacion, with external hotspot-service-provider do you recomend. The prices are very high. And the free service is not possible, because the proyect is for 10 bars, each of them with hotspot.

    Thanks a lot.

Could be a bit more specific as just "none of them works very well"?

I have used the Captive Portal in RAF for a while and it worked just fine, but maybe you need more options etc?

For a commercial product you can take a look at Zyxel´s products for hotels and the like.
Example, Zyxel ZyAir N4100, starts at about 450 Euro here, without a receipt-printer.

Use the "Lan Access" menu to route between the two networks.

I simply bridge eth1 (my 2.4GHZ WLAN) to br1 (my guest network, created under Basic/Network). And then select br1 as interface for Captive Portal.
