Stop home IP addresses changing?

    Running DD-WRT v23

New to Linksys. Have home network with 3 PCs, 2 wireless and 1 wired.

I want to access restrict my son's internet time using 'Access Restrictions' but the IP address isn't static so sometimes one of the other PCs gets restricted and not my son's.

How do I set it so that the IP addresses on the PCs remain fixed? I have a dynamic addess to outside world via my cable modem.

Ideally would like a solution such that my daughter could take her laptop to school and login to wireless network there without changing anything on PC ie open up the network adapter config.

    Thanks
    Ian

    Static DHCP

    Hello Ian,

This should be quite easy to solve. Since you are using DD-WRT you can tell the router to always assign the same IP address to the PCs of your choice. Have a look here for details:
    Static DHCP on DD-WRT

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers

    That looks neater.

I turned off DHCP and used static IP in network adapter.

    I prefer this way.

    Thanks
    Ian

Or you could just restrict access using the computers MAC address instead
