To start off with, I'm using the initial release firmware (1.01.06). I don't want to try upgrading right now unless there was some way to downgrade if I had problems (I've read of wireless dropouts with the new firmware). On the network, I have two laptops using Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG adapters and one laptop using a Linksys WPC54GS (ver 2) using the latest drivers. These three systems have no problems at all. The problem is my desktop with the WMP54GS. Its twofold. If I leave the computer on for awhile (hours and hours) it is no longer able to communicate with the internet and network connections are really slow (think almost a minute to load the router's configuration page). Same thing if I run a sustained download through it for an hour or so. If I attempt to repair the connection on the desktop, everyone completely loses their wireless connection and I have to unplug and plug in the router. Does anyone know what might be going on? Other than this, we really like the WRT54GX2.
