I recently purchased a BuffaloTech Link Theater media server. Setup the server to access my router wirelessly, a 2.2 at the time and of course I immediately started having problems with the router rebooting every 3-4 minutes it seemed.

Luckily I found this website and figured out that the ver 2.2 was the culprit. Went to Best Buy today and searched the shelves and luckily found 1 ver 2.0 out of about 20. Came home and set up the router again, and after streaming video to the server the past few hours I have not had a single problem.

The new ver 2.0 that I now have has a Firmware Version: v2.04.4 . I really would like to run HyperWRT firmware to extend my range. What I would like to know is if the Large File Disconnect/Reboot problem is attributed to the Hardware of the 2.2 or the newer Firmware versions that are out now?

Well, 2.04.4 firmware wont work on v2.2, v2.2 code was only implemented on 3.13.3 I think, not really sure about the version number.
