Finally Sveasoft has released the much anticipated hotspot version of the Talisman firmware series. It boasts the following features common to hotspot firmware: Two kinds of Hotspot - simple splash screen and login/passwd IP PnP (accomodates any IP address and gateway without requiring DHCP) Secure HTTP-only login with Javascript hash exchange (no HTTPS/SSL required) Customizable look and feel (background color, 1 graphics banner, unlimited text) Uploadable GIF/JPEG/PNG custom banner cache for login page Idle timer logout for splash screen mode, settable from 0 (no timeout) to 65535 seconds. Built in internal SQL database for user data stored in rw partition Login by username and password with selectable time limits (30m - 1 month, for login hotspot type) Built-in printable receipt generation with username, password, limit info and hotspot banner Force URL capability - force user to specific URL after login (optional) Free sites/walled garden URL database Exempt MACs capability - when username in database is a MAC address any clients with that address are exempt from login Login tracked by both IP and MAC address (reduces chance of MAC-IP spoofing) Status page with login name, MAC, IP, time online, idle time, bytes in, and bytes out Ability to "kick" users from the Hotspot Status page If you would like to try it out or want more info please go to http://www.sveasoft.com.
