I need this asap, although i has'nt be released yet, anyword?
Don't think it will release anytime soon.
My guess is ~July/August 2006 but can be later or sooner.
What do you need with hotspot? DD-WRT already supports hotspot now. But just no payment option.
Sveasoft just released firmware with wVLAN support with up to 16 SSID's. They are working on a hotspot that can run on several SSID's at the same time. Sounds really cool.
www.sputnik.com is the answer for linksys routers.
"They" is pretty much just James now from what I hear.
Even Wolf left after disputes with James.
I would not expect this anytime soon.
As previous poster said, DD-WRT has chillispot. Also available for OpenWRT as an add-on package. I use chillispot quite a bit in a community WiFi network and it works well.
Wow, you mean no one complained or waved the open source flag? They are using the same licensing model as sveasoft (closed source)and not even a hickup from the wagon riders. Not that I care I just find it interesting sputnik didn't take a hit for this. I guess its because their product works so different. BTW kalamadeq, I don't think many people out there are going to jump on this that quickly seeing as the firmware needs the sputnik server for the captive portal to work (it isemms to be a great business product for hotspot users) For others who care, Talisman doesn't yet (future release) but there is a chillispot package out there somewhere, it can be done.
ya I pay sputnik a whole 29 bucks a month but I make like 2000 a month so for me its very worth it. Also I use there own routers not the linksys one that is new.
