Teamspeak ends up in "Crawl"

    Hello,

I use the latest build of Tomato by shibbby and have one major problem with QoS. Everything works fine and gets detected correctly, except Teamspeak. I already set up a new classification for Teamspeak in by selecting L7 to "teamspeak" but it does not work at all...

Can you guys tell me, what I do wrong?

Probably, the teamspeak L7 filter doesn't work. The L7 filters are old, and have not been updated for a long time.

Is there any way I could fix this issue, except deactivating QoS? I can't even connect to my TeamSpeak server anymore, because of this issue with the QoS classification.

Instead of using the teamspeak L7, couldn't you just set the dst port to the port(s) your teamspeak server uses?

I already tried this earlier, but had no success unfortunately.

Edit: Nevermind! This actually fixed the problem. I forgot to reset the Layer 7 options, now it works like a charm! :) I'm happy now but would also like to know, if there is a proper way to detect this for all servers I want to connect to. Right now, this is limited to my server only. If I understand Toastman correctly, this isn't possible due to the outdated L7 filters, so I'll either have to wait for an update or do have to create a new classification for all servers I want to connect to, right?

Don't most teamspeak servers use the same port? you could classify by DEST port...

There probably won't be any updates to most of the L7 filters, they are no longer actively maintained. Individuals may, however, design their own filters by using Wireshark to examine packets.

Most but not the ones I use. ;)

This should do the work. Thanks!

Thanks Porter, but this filter is for YouTube not Teamspeak and it's already implemented as I can tell from the classification page.

Don't you need to test your new filter? I posted this link as a general guide as to how to get a new pattern file onto your router and then test it. I know that this post is about a youtube filter. I wrote that post. ;)
