telnet to check cpu

I just purchased two slugs, which were packaged differently:

slug1: no ntfs/fat32 sticker on box, made in Taiwan, came with f/w 24

slug2: ntfs/fat32 sticker on box, made in China, came with f/w 63

Initial objective - determine stock cpu speed, 133 v. 266.

Searching located ourtelnetrescueuser information and slugpass.c code. Compiled slugpass and determined password for slug1. Turned on telnet, connected to slug1 and cat /proc/cpuinfo indicated 133 cpu.

On slug2, I downgraded the f/w to 24 so I could attempt same procedure. Re-compiled slugpass.c for slug2 and got password of "paS0/LCQdAZLk". Note the "/" in the password. Turned on telnet and attempted login. Password is not accepted by slug2.

What do you think about the "/" in the password? Do I need to enter it in a special way? Do you think the slugpass.c code doesn't work with slug2?
