Thibor 15c problem with UPnP NAT redirection

Thibor 15c, WRT54G v2, Firewall protection disabled, "Filter Internet NAT Redirection" unchecked.

With these settings, I have verified that packets originating in the LAN and sent to the WAN destination address are correctly processed by any port redirections set up in the "Port range forward" and "Port Redirection" categories. But if LAN-originating packets are sent to a WAN address port which is defined in the "UPnP Port Forwarding" category, then the router rejects the packet: if it was TCP, an RST/ACK is sent; if it was UDP, then an ICMP "port unreachable" is sent in reply.

This seems wrong. If NAT redirection can be done for statically defined NAT redirections, why not for UPnP redirections too?

why would you be trying to reach the WAN destination when you have explicitly blocked loopback connections?
besides that, upnp doesn't cope too well when loopback is blocked.

I have not "explicitly blocked loopback connections" - I have explicitly allowed them. I want the UPnP redirections to work as well as the static ones do.

oops, sorry. i saw checked instead of unchecked. my bad
i've just checked my router here, and with a manually created UPnP mapping done via the IGD, forwarding appears to be working, although i did have to create 2 entries, 1 for TCP and the other for UDP

Needing to have both protocols mapped is not something that we can rely on UPnP applications to do: when they map a TCP port, they expect it to work for TCP as it stands, and so on.

**post edited** can you explain in greater detail what you are trying to do?
what ports and protocols has UPnP opened
