Hi all! I just updated my wrtsl54gs to thibor 16b and have three issues.

    1) upnp is not working (Internet Gateway missing); 2) file times on ntfs formatted shares off (looks like gmt issues); & 3) the isp dns servers are now showing on the clients in addition to the router.

Issues #1 & #2 were there from 15c, and I don't really know yet if #3 is really a problem. I upgraded from 15c, reset nvram, reentered all of my settings. I telneted into the router to see if the upnp process is listed when IGD is missing, and it isn't. The time issue was previously discussed in another thread. I was under the impression (possibly mistaken) that both of these issues were fixed in this revision.

    Any additional troubleshooting hints?

btw -- I find this firm ware far better then the stock one because it adds so many sorely missing features. Thanks for all the work.

    1. i have IGD icon here, and adding/deleting entries is working so don't really know what to respond
    2. Only NTFS?
    3. check your dnsmasq settings in index.asp, there is a choice to show the isp dns entries.

    1. hmmm... i've been having that problem even with 15c. I must have a screwed up setting somewhere (but I thought clearing nvram would re-set everything) or a possible hardware problem??? i have several pc's and they're all the same. also, the upnp process is not running (checked via telnet)

    2. ntfs is the only format i have right now. i had a fat32 disk, but it failed. i thought this might be the samba issue? (just guessing)

    3. can you point me to the file to check?

it's not a file to check, it's a setting in the index page
you have either use ISP dns servers as backup set or the other checkbox whose label i can't remember right now.

    The settings are:

Use ISP served DNS in addition to static entries

Use Static DNS as backup for ISP served DNS

    Use Dnsmasq for DNS

as to the IGD UPnP issue. this i think is maybe a problem with the OS and not the SL. my laptop shows this constantly (WinXP Pro), however my Desktop (WinXP Pro x64) will display it for a time then it comes and goes.

also, with regard to UPnP, if you have "Filter Internet NAT Redirection" checked in your firewall page, this has the side effect of killing the UPnP process too.

some feedback. i totally power cycled everything, and the the upnp / igd seems to be working for a while now. we'll see how it goes tomorrow am. that also seemed to have cleared up the extra dns servers listed on the clients. strange to have to do that, but i thought i'd let you know.

the time stamp on files are still not working as expected (well, as expected by me). when i change the time zone too GMT, the time is good. when i change it to GMT- 5 (eastern US), the time stamp is off exactly by the time zone. i stopped logging for a while, so i'm leaving the time set as is right now.
