I downloaded your HyperWRT WRT54GS_4.70.6-201105 (Thibor). It works beautifully and I am not currently having any problems. Thanks for taking the time to create the nice piece of work.

The only question I have though is what Transmission Power setting to be at without needing a cooling fan for my wrt54gs v2 router? I currently have it set to 67%. If I can go higher I would like to.

I believe the v2 units can handle the 100% setting in the firmware with no extra cooling.
100% is still far below the real max value the hardware can do. The whole percentage system was put in place so people would not be able to damage their routers, at least I think that was the reason.

But really you should try better antennas first. That according to most people will give more of a boost than changing the output in firmware.

Plus it allows for better reception too, unlike just turning up the power.

I have the linksys 7 gain antennas

I already have the 7 gain antennas but I have not seen any significant gain in signal strenght. As you know the wrt54gs v2 comes with speedbooster and even with that on I still do not see any great improvments in connectivity.

Then maybe try a better antenna on the client.
How far do you have to transmit?
Any walls, etc? If so, do you have any idea what they are made of?
Did you try different channels? maybe you just have some interference from other routers.
