I have awrt54g with thibor and my biggest problem is that I cant conect with the ethernet cable. it says conected 100mbps but I cant access configuration of router. I t will conect wirelessly though. ai have windows xp media center a evga 133 k8 nf41 ax motherboard with nvidea ethernet controller. The router works on another computer with windows 200. also what settings would work to conect to another linksys router set to default settings and share the internet connection. I f I do this will it kill my wireless ability? I have been trying and reading for many days now with no luck so any help would be greatly apreciated.

So the router works wired from one computer but not wired from another? Sounds like an issue with that individual computer. If you have access to the other router you can set the 2 up in WDS so that you can bridge them and not lose wireless of your router. Otherwise you would have to use client or bridge mode and would only be able to connect to your router via ethernet cables.

sounds like either the PC has a static IP address in a different range and gateway than the routers IP address, or a software firewall is blocking access.

I had a similar problem some time ago...
The cable was to long (or bad quality) to keep a real 100mbps connection. The router's led is on, the windows says it's connected @ 100mbps, but no traffic at all!!

I set the NIC manual to 10mbps half-duplex and worked perfectly.

    Try this.

    Regards.
