Hello Thibor Can you explain to us about change from 4.70.6 to v1.05.06 in your last firmware thibor 12 ? I'm so curious about that. This last one is so good (thibor 12) Thank you for this excellent job.
personally i don't know what the changes are between the 2 codebases, i just decided to use the GSv4 codebase and see if it could be any better than 4.70.6
For now the new v1.05.06 + HyperWRT + Thibor 12 seem to be better than 4.70.6 after two days of use. We will see in future...
i quite agree, the new codebase is a lot faster, both internet and network based; than the older 4.70.6 QoS seems to work quite a lot better too
Hi to everybody, thibor I wanted to ask you a question? as it does him to plan the router that the connection ignores to an ip that you don't want. or if there and' the possibility' to add this function in the firewall dell hyperwrt. thanks
I think he's asking for a way to deny a specific IP address from being assigned? Or, if a specific workstation should not get an IP? Not sure exactly. Damn these translation programs (or, just poor english). Thibor, Any expected release date for the 140106 release? 12 is great, but I'm an upgrade whore.
the differences between the 2 are quite small, i've just fixed a couple of bugs and added Flood Protection to the firewall. i'm not sure if there is a way of ensuring that a particular mac get DHCPNAK'd. if it's an internet access prevention thing, it could be set up in access restrictions
I ask if it is possible that the router doesn't allow certain addresses ip to unload from me, a filter of addresses ip that it prevents access of it sorry for my english i use a translator
If you're talking about preventing specific IP's from connecting to you (to download, upload, etc.) you're still talking about access restrictions. Or, you could put a firewall on the specific workstation in question and use it to restrict access to specific IP addresses that you specify.
Just a question, will the 140106 help with a problem I am having sense I updated to 120106. Problem: 1. I have a website and that is still accessed, but I had the ftp port redirected to my ftp server (diff. IP). Now users can connect and browse but are unable to transfer file to/from it. 2. Wanted to test it and from the outside I can't either (as admin), so I tested something else. I connected to an ftp server outside my network and it connect but it does not allow transfer. It denies and tell me the same thing as with mine. Not Authorized. Should I just go back down a step or leave it, any thoughts or advise would help. I just know everything worked yesterday, installed last night and all day today can't get it to work.
Another update, the issue appears to be Macintosh only. Just powered up my pc and it see's out to FTP's, connects and transfers. And being that all the users that connect to me are Mac users, just enforces still a problem. I can leave it at the 120106, because if anything it has lighted my work load, and I need the break right now. No worries, when you get time.
WDS-AP Mode It seems that in this new version if you use the WDS-AP functionality, internet traffic will slow to a crawl after 12-24 hours. I have multiple wireless clients and one belkin54g router that functions as a bridge to allow a set of computers upstairs to use their ethernet connections to access the network without running wires. The problem is that after half a day to a day, the speed of browsing slows to a crawl, with pages that took 2-3 seconds to load taking 15-20 seconds. The best way to fix this is to reset the router and reset the machine. Is this a result of the new codebase?
using WDS here without issues, uptime of several days. what is your internet connection type? do you have syslogs of what is going on?
