    Gehe thanks.

    Just downloaded the new source and started working on a new HyperWRT version. If all goes well, you should expect a new version very soon ;)

    i must say i have only had my linksy a day and put this firmware on first thing after asking around.

    its soild as a rock without any problems.

    sure beats the hell out of my netgear freezeing under load every couple of hours.

    i haven't even had time to find out whats all in it but i am very happy.

    great work and ty very much.

    how about:

    * ssh?
    * syslog?
    * web configurable FW?
    * DHCP static entries?
    * some other WOL...?
    * maybe some VPN (site2site) :p ...

    well i am not sure if i wil use dd-wrt or hyperwrt source.

    what i wanted to do is just add a captive portal. and i was not really going to make it public. it was going to be a cutom firmware for me.

    but i need to talk this over with some friends that are good with linux. but if the firmware works then sure i will give it to the public.

    i dont know about these:
    * syslog?
    * web configurable FW?
    * DHCP static entries?
    * some other WOL...?
    * maybe some VPN (site2site)

    The only thing I would like to see in the new HyperWRT version would be static DHCP.... Beside that, I like the idea of staying as close to the org. linksys firmware as possible.

    I have to agree with you Ravn.

    HyperWRT has a handful of small enhancements such as adjustments to transmit power. Remaining close to the Linksys code means that these changes can be readily added back in without too much delay whenever a new source distribution is released.

    Along with a many others it would be nice to see a static DHCP implementation, but not at the expense of any reliability problems. My WRT54G has been happily running for two months without a reboot.

    Don't expect any big changes in the first months.
    Not have that much time to work on the firmware because I'm going to do some vacation jobs as I'm (as most students) in need of some extra pocket money :wink:

    Advanced Qos like in DD-WRT would be a major plus with HyperWRT. I would just like to stick with hyperwrt but with the linksys QOS its hard with online gaming with AIM and Limewire running.
