    Hello
Lets tell you my litle story
Flash WRT54G V2 with TinyPeap and lose ethernet port access.

Only can access wrt by wifi, using cable ping 192.168.1.1 and nothing :( . Flash with dd-wrt firmware and have access again to eth port. I want to put wrt545g work with radius and this problem slow me down.

Make sure you reset the router after you flash. I'm running the tinypeap firmware and I have normal operation; ethernet ports working here. Hold the reset button down for about 10 seconds to make sure it does a full reset.

Are you sure, that your WRT54G is V2 and not V2.2?
Because the current TinyPeap version is based on Sveasoft Satori, which is not 100% compatible with V2.2 routers. If you flash Satori (or any other firmware based on Satori) on a WRT54G V2.2 or a WRT54GS V1.2, the ethernet port will not be accessible any longer and you'll only be able to access the router over wireless links, as you descibed in you post.

full resets are 30 seconds and is documented on linksys's own knowledge base.

if the box says 2.2 then you have that.

tiny peap is not compatable. only official linksys firmware or the latest hyperwrt is.

    Alchemy will be compatable shortly.

    Same problem with WRT54GS v2

Are you sure this doesn't affect a straight WRT54GS v2? I have a v2 (NOT v2.2) and I'm having the same problem. Thoughts?
