I was unsure which forum to post this in... Recently I purchased the WRT54G router, and ended up getting the v5. It's not such a problem, it's been pretty stable recently. But whenever I download on Bittorrent, the internet slows to a halt. The problem usually occurs once there are about 100 connections. I can assure you the problem is the router: - When I am directly connected to the cable modem, i can have close to 1000 connections with 400k+ download speeds, and I can still browse the web near full speed. - My max upload speed in Bittorrent is at 20k, while the cable internet can handle about 50k max. - Under QoS settings, I have tried setting the priority to 'highest' for ports 80 and 443 (HTML), and things are still extremely slow. So at the moment, I am considering returning this router for the WRT54GL instead. But for anyone with an older version of the WRT54G or the WRT54GL, I want to ask: Can you download from Bittorrent, or just have hundreds of connections open at once while experiencing little to no speed decrease? Thanks to all who reply.
