tomato .08 and UDP problems

I upgraded to .08 earlier and found that a game my wife and I play will not work. It is Asheron's Call and uses UDP for the connection to the remote server.

Thinking that it was a QOS problem I turned off QOS and reset the router.

Still no go. It can not connect to the server at all under .08 with QOS on or off. The connection times out and you get dropped.

I flashed back to my .07 firmware and turned on QOS and things work fine again.

    Any ideas here?

Battlefield 2142/2 runs fine even with custom L7 QoS,
I've just played for 5 hours non-stop without problem ...

    I don't think that's tomato UDP fault.

Asheron's Call uses straight UDP. No TCP at all. It is unusual I know, but that is how they made the game some 6+ years ago.

I have e-mailed Jon and I have to run some commands for him and send it back to him. I just need the time to flash back and forth a few times and try and get into the game.

This is what I sent him:
This is what he sent back:
Now I have to convince my wife to get out of game for a bit so that I can run these tests and send everything to him.

This is a strange one I know. I figured out just about any other problem but this one has me stumped

Just my 2 Pennies. I don't really do too much gaming online, but my Vonage VoIP connection uses UDP to connect and establish calls and it seems to work very well, like it did in Thibor15c.

Turns out the having Allow MultiCast turned on (Advanced==>Firewall menu) was the source of the UDP and the UPnP issues.

If you have it on >TURN IT OFF< if you are running version .08 or older

    thanks mercjoe!

I had serious problems with Multicast enabled. some web pages were loading and some not... I had lots of timeouts, but DNS was resolving correctly and the hosts were reachable.

    This fixed the issue. Thanks!

Hey maxzerker, do you have a copy of those custom L7 patterns anywhere?
