Hi guys, finally got down to it to speedmod Tomato 1.21.

    Get the 'official' version here.

P.S. Thanks to rhester72 for compiling a SpeedMod on 1.21 earlier. I'm glad the SpeedMod source-code is getting used well. :)

I have a problem with Tomato 1.21 speedmod and non speedmod. When I'm using my laptop over wifi and downloading files over utorrent sometimes I get something like that:
sites doesn't open for a while (maybe 20 secs)
    utorrent is losing connection
the wifi is ok (no resetting the connection)
ping from tomato to any site on the net is dead (looses 100%)

It looks like the connection is losing with the net, but only for a while (I'm using DSL with static IP). I don't know if it is a problem with tomato or with my connection. Don't you know how to check this? Maybe I will flash the 1.19 and see what is happening? I can also change the modem because I have one more.

What does /var/log/messages (or the log in the GUI) look like when this happens?

I don't know if it is connected with it but I found such things in log:
    Code:
    Aug 9 15:26:12 unknown user.info kernel: ip_conntrack_rtsp.c: help_out: ip_conntrack_expect_related failed (-17)
    Aug 9 15:26:12 unknown user.info kernel: ip_conntrack_rtsp.c: help_out: ip_conntrack_expect_related failed (-17)
    Aug 9 15:26:12 unknown user.info kernel: ip_conntrack_rtsp.c: help_out: ip_conntrack_expect_related failed (-17)
    Aug 9 15:26:12 unknown user.info kernel: ip_conntrack_rtsp.c: help_out: ip_conntrack_expect_related rtcp failed (-17)
    Aug 9 15:26:12 unknown user.info kernel: ip_conntrack_rtsp.c: help_out: ip_conntrack_expect_related failed (-17)

Now I have 1.19 (from yesterday) and I'm testing if it is the same problem... (nothing going bad from yesterday...)

This error is pretty common and shouldn't affect your connection. Its probably due to some of your BT connections getting mistaken for RTSP traffic. If you really want to turn it off, you can disable the RTSP module in conntrack in the web GUI (Advanced > Conntrack/Netfilter > Tracking/NAT Helpers, untick RTSP).

How do I recover my router after failed flashing speedmod firmware? In middle of flashing the firmware, I got an error ' Error in MTD writing'. Now the power led kept blinking. Tried hard reset, but not working. Unplugged power, didn't help either. Any idea?

    thanks,

The procedure is the same as trying to recover from any other bad flash. Try the tftp method. There are instructions elsewhere on how to do this, for example here:

    http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Tftp_flash

You can directly flash the tomato firmware using that procedure (no need to flash DD-WRT or default linksys firmware first).

hardCore, Thank for the link. Didn't work at first, but it worked perfectly after I debricked my router by shorting pin 15 & 16 on the flash chip. My router is working again :)

So I can say that nothing in log is shown when the speed is going to 0. I changed my modem to another one and this history is happening again. There are two possibilities; my connection is broken or it is something in tomato but I have no idea what. Can you tell me what I could check?
Here is the graph from utorrent when the situation is happening.

    EDIT:
The problem on 1.19 appeared once so far, when on 1.21 it was once per more or less 5 minutes) so it's probably problem with tomato. I'll be watching what will happen tommorow. I can't find the solution to diagnose which module can be responsible for such behaviour.

Hi eRd12, if the problem happens again, could you post the last few (20 or so) lines of the output of "dmesg" after telnet-ing into the router?

Is there any method to see if the speedmod is installed?

The build number (the last number in the version) on the About page will say 8501 or 8502.

A bit confuse, is Victek's version also base on your code? I would like to choose a mod version which have per user bandwidth control, which one you recommend?

Hardc0re, can you send me a link to the latest 1.19 build that you had. I want it in case the 1.21 mod is flaky with disconnects. Thanks!

    --edit--
Nevermind, I got it from your website... thx.
