Hey guys, I'm new here maybe someone might know me from Overclock.net. I have a WRT54GL that has been running DD-WRT for about a year and I thought I would try Tomato firmware. I was running Victek's mod for a while but the wifi would drop out about 4 times a day, I just moved to vanilla Tomato 1.28 and it has been working fine.

Does anyone know a solution to my problem? Could it be just a bad flash?

You shouldn't be using 2.6 unless you have a very specific reason. Load 1.28.8525, clear nvram, problem solved.

WRT54GL w/2.6 is not a good match -- it doesn't have much memory to spare and 2.6 makes even less available. WiFi could be dropping out because you are running out of memory.

Before I upgraded to Victek release from stock, I had random internet dropouts and DNS resolve errors. I later discovered it was from running many torrents and running out of free memory.

I have been running 15 devices (8 wired/7 wireless) with a WRT54GL V1.1 and Tomato RAF v1.28.8615 MIPSR1_RAF K26 Std. Uptime 14 days since K2.6 firmware flashed. CPU is overclocked to 250 MHz and Wireless Transmit Power set to 251 mW. I have not experienced wireless dropouts and my free memory stays around 50%. I do not run torrents. Web browsing and LAN performance has been fine. So, WRT54GL w/2.6 is a good match for me.
