i have a samba share on a linux box & a NAS with NFS/FTP capability on the network. How do i make tomato log everything (bandwidth, connection logs, system logs etc) to either the samba share or a NFS/FTP box ?? i can also setup a remote syslog server but how do i make sure the bandwidth stats all go there and not just the logs ? ideally i'd like ONE place where everything goes, not a separate service which does logging and another which stores bandwidth logs.

You're talking of things that are configured differently:
One thing are the bandwith logs. You can store them on a CIFS share on your linux box, just mount the share on your router and store the rstats logfile there.

The system log is another thing, for that to reside on a remote machine you have to setup remote syslogging.

I don't know about connection logs, what exactly do you mean by that?

First you need to relocate the msg file to CIFS folder (check out the how to on pined thread), then install a syslog daemon with remote logging.
it works for me on a QNAP TS219 (IPKG stuff......)
