    Same router I have. I'm using the build you see in my signature. Again, no problems for me at all. Have you tried swapping the ethernet cable between WAN port and modem?

    Are there still issues with the "new" Broadcom drivers as hinted in this old post by Shibby?
    I encountered problems with wifi and WL-500Gp V1 two years ago when I updated to Teddy_Bear mod build >52. Teddy_Bear builds after 52 just had unusably poor wireless (the "new" drivers were incorporated after 52).

    At least there are still recent build 52 releases (compiled 2012/09/26) on Shibby's site: http://tomato.groov.pl/download/K26/ So I figured this is still an issue?

    hi all!
    i would like to ask if anyone else is having a strange issue with ipv6. i am using the 101 builds big,rt- n aio ecc.. with pppoe in various routers i have. the problem is that when i enable the dhcpv6 with 56 subnet that my provider support it works okay but... if for example i restart the router o r shut it down, when the router starts up it takes very long to get the ipv6 ip. it continues get and release the ipv4 ip from the provider and connects-diisconnects sometimes for so long, until it gets the ipv6 ip too,that the cpu usage also increases a lot.at the end it works.
    i have seen this issue with an E4200 an e3000 and a wl500gpv2 in quite every lateversion of shibby with ipv6 dhcpv6.

    have a nice day.

    shibby thanks for all

    I have tried 101 and 102 AIO builds and experience the same problem. Here is my set up. Asus RT-N66U. I also opened the router and put in a 32G SD card. I mainly use the SD card for running the built-in bit torrent. It was running fine at the beginning but eventually connecting to the port 9091 will wait forever. Got no choice but to turn off the torrent daemon. Any idea what is causing it ?

    not sure if this is the right thread for it, but the Mini build for the E1200v1 is too big with 102. 101 is fine.

    Can anyone confirm if 5 Ghz wifi works with the latest Shibby on the N66U?

    For some reason it doesn't work for me :(

    However it works with Asus' original firmware: I can see both 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz networks. Tested with firmware versions 3.0.0.4.220 and 3.0.0.4.260.

    This is strange since both the Asus' firmware and the latest Shibby use the same Broadcom drivers 5.100.138.20.

    I have cleared NVRAM with the WPS button method and from Tomato GUI (many times). Still can't see the 5 Ghz with Shibby. Any ideas?

    Also I should point out that it appears you are overclocking your router.. RT-N16 stock speed is 480MHz. I tried overclocking mine to 532 in the past and had nothing but random problems like this. I recommend keeping it at 480Mhz as there is little performance gain and more problems if running at 532Mhz.

    @occamsrazor - 3G MODEM already found - using cdc-acm modulethis is our problem. This module is used by MF195 (very similar as 192). Modem is propably detected as ttyACM device, not as ttyUSB. Please check this in log.

    will the dropbearconvert issue get fixed? I downloaded the source in hopes of doing it myself and writing a patch but the dropbearconvert.c file looks correct which would indicate an issue with a makefile. but i found no references to dropbearconvert in any of the makefiles unfortunately...

    Any chance of the virtual wfilters being fixed soon? I mentioned this a while ago:

    http://www.linksysinfo.org/index.ph...client-beta-testing.33858/page-13#post-190802

    It's getting quite annoying to delete the wfilters through SSH for my virtual wireless every time I need to add or remove an entry. The filters migrate to the virtual wireless interfaces every time I make a change on the basic-wfilter.asp page. Not sure why teaman implemented it in this way, but it's counter intuitive IMHO, and he isn't responding to my PM's :p

    Propably Teaman didnt know about that and he was not happened to fix that. I remember about that and i will try to fix this.

    Thanks shibby! Also going back to a post I made a while ago in another thread. Are you able to add e-mail notifications to the apcupsd UPS Monitor GUI? The script below (which I've placed in WAN-Up) posted in another thread does work for me:

    echo SYSADMIN=my@email.addr > /etc/apcemail.conf
    echo "APCUPSD_MAIL=\"smtp -h emailserver -s Power_Event -f ups@apc.com\"" >> /etc/apcemail.conf

    Using this, when the power goes out I get an e-mail with the subject "Power_Event" from "ups@apc.com" saying if the power went out or came back on.

    Thanks and keep up the AWESOME work!

    dear shibby - fixing virtual filters would be great (especially for guest/kid networks without mac-filtering).
    If it comes to "good features" for kids - I saw in "fritzbox" the possibility to restrict a MAC-address for an final consumption/day.
    Is this something easy to implement as it gives parents some great control. I only know who to "restrict" an MAC for a period (beginning/end-time) but not "consumption -or time of usage".
    Would be an great instrument especially if I could "mix" it. -> from 3PM to 9PM -with max 3 hour usage :))

    I know -only good ideas- an no support. Sorry, if I could I would spend some hours.

  31. occamsrazor

    occamsrazor Network Guru Member

    Yes that was what I was thinking. The changes to add MF195 support seem to have also "caught" the MF192 modem. Any idea how we can fix it to allow MF195 to be detected as ttyACM while also allowing MF192 to be detected normally as ttyUSB? In the meantime v101 is still working fine so am using that.

    Shibby,
    Thanks for the great work. I just got a N-66u yesterday for the purpose of using it with your firmware. I have the AIO build on it. I have two small issues hopefully you or someone here can help me with. I have an NFS share on an OSX machine. The entire network uses it and it's working fine. My goal is to have the n-66u mount this share and then have the built in torrent client save to it.
    When I try and mount the NFS share via ssh I get the following:
    root@router:/tmp/mnt# mount.nfs 192.168.1.2:/Volumes/Media/Downloads /mnt/Downlo
    ads
    mount.nfs: rpc.statd is not running but is required for remote locking.
    Either use '-o nolock' to keep locks local, or start statd.
    I got it to mount with the -o nolock but transmission just crashes after starting a torrent. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    is tomatousb on the Asus N-66u capable of mounting a network NFS share and then writing to it with the transmission client?
    thanks

    wl300ge is supported by v102.

    v103 i released for E2500, E3200 and RT-N53 only. This was a build with wl_high module included (5GHz).

    v104 is a final release. I`m testing it myself. All images are building right now and i think will be ready to release on weekend :)

    :) I understand! anyway i couldn't find the v102 for wl330ge in your site. will wait for 104 anyway.
    Just for the record, have you taken in the 104 version any look for the ipv6 problems? I mean no ipv6 for br1 ecc.. and the long time to get the ipv6 through dhcpv6 and continuus ipv4 (wan side) disconnects till it gets the ipv6?

    thank you again Shibby.

    Yes for some reason it has the wrong header. The E3200 104 AIO build has this as the first 4 entries in the header:

    Code:

    It should be:

    Code:
    3200

    I like tomatoAnon. It presents good statistical information by country.
    I would like to suggest for "up time" column to be computed autmatically, every 5mins or less would be nice.
    Also, before router shutdown. I think it should send shutdown message also. That way, server stop incrementing "up time". Maybe, possibly delete it in the database or have a daily history..... whatever...

    I would wait on this, as of this posting i re-downloaded the E3200 104 AIO build and checked its header, still has the wrong one in there. So either wait for shibby to correct this, or use a hex editor and fix it yourself with how i explained above. I could post the fixed bin, but i am not sure this forum allows it. You could use an older build than 104, but with 104 you'll have both 2.4 and 5Ghz radios working, with older builds you won't have both radios working, only 2.4Ghz.

    I've flashed tomato-K26USB-1.28.RT-MIPSR2-104-AIO to my ASUS RT-N16, everything went fine till reboot. After that the router stops responding, the 2.4 GHz activity LED not working anymore and the IP alocated by router was something like 192.169.254.139 if my memory is good. After a while I decided to manually set the IP adress to 192.168.1.101 and use ASUS Restoring Utility to set back to tomato-K26USB-1.28.RT-MIPSR2-102-AIO. I did that 3 times and nothing changed, now I'm 102, but I wonder if I did something wrong or is something with that build? Did anyone experienced same thing like me?

    working fine so far on my RT-N16 running tomato-K26USB-1.28.RT-N5x-MIPSR2-104-AIO, upgraded last night uptime so far is 19 hours.

    @shibby

    I like the tomatoanon feature but in my opinion you need to look into making the data search smarter. for example you cannot search for uk only routers with make/model RT-N16 - you have to either search uk only or RT-N16 only. it would also be nice to see some stats such as "most popular model" "most used firmware version" "longest uptime recorded" etc these would be nice fun/interesting stats.

    Anyways great job as usual

    The onboard Transmission seems unstable, constantly shuts down without printing any errors even with message-level 3. Maybe it is being killed due to lack of memory? My E3200 only has 64MB but I have a gig of swap enabled. If not transferring much data I've seen it run as long as a day but that's it.

    According to the latest build.png this should include a nfs server, but I'm missing this topic under USB and NAS.

    I did'nt want to install the AIO version because I wanted to use BT through optware (that should be more stable, isn't it?)

    BTW: is it now safe to upgrade to 104 on RT-N16, or are there still issues with dead router?

    BT is MUCH more stable through optware, yes. However you can still do it this way even if using AIO, just point the Bt-GUI to your optware package instead of internal.

    @Shibby,
    Just discovered same LAN MAC address for my 2 identical routers. Possible to have it editable in MAC GUI?

    Ok, but I don't want to waste memory for things I dont use. Why is nfs server not in Big-VPN build? Can I install nfs server as optware?

    I think I found a bug: SMB without authentication does not work. It always needs a password, same as with authentication. In TomatoUSB this was working without problems.

    I now installed the 102 AIO Version, but still cannot see a nfs server. Where should it be located?

    NFS is only in BIG-VPN and AIO builds.

    Code:
    @Shibby,
    Just discovered same LAN MAC address for my 2 identical routers. Possible to have it editable in MAC GUI?

    Solved !!! by following below procedures:
    1. nvram find macaddr
    et0macaddr=00:90:4c:c0:04:51 <=== LAN MAC address
    il0macaddr=00:90:4c:c1:04:51

    2. To change
    nvram set et0macaddr=08:10:74:85:0E:27
    nvram commit

    3. Reboot router

    Finally, my wireless ethernet bridge working fine. Able to make ping to main router and other websites. I still hope that Shibby would allow LAN MAC editable also in the GUI.

    I found the NFS server. It is under "Administration". IMO this should be under USB_and_NAS->File_Sharing, where the SMB server is.

    I am running v104 on RT-N66U. I have a problem to assign port 4 to other vlan. I login to the machine and run nvram to do it manually. I am pretty sure I issue "nvram commit". The strange thing is after I reboot, the changes to vlan1ports are gone and it goes back "4 3 2 1 8*" as if I never made the changes. Just wonder why.

    I did use the GUI in the first place. Same result and that's why I switch to use the command line which I am familiar with.

    i have 3 vlans on RT-N66U and all 3 are working correct. The problem has to be on your side. Did you erase nvram after install new version of tomato?

    No, I didn't. I just quickly upgrade the firmware from 102 to 104. There are a few people are using the network and it is hard to find the time to re-setup the configuration. Maybe I will ask a different question. If I backup the current setting, do a nvram erase, will restore the backup work fix it ? Or I must re-setup the configuration manually ?

    You will restore the same garbage. You have to re-setup all manually.

    @OMG Sarick, first post was writed "shibby20, Feb 26, 2011", near 2 year ago :) Please go to my homepage http://tomato.groov.pl/ . There you will find a changelog, info about my tomato mod, screenshots, list of supported routers and download section :)

    I erase the nvram and the result is the same. At the end I use a different VID other than 0 and it now works fine.

    horrible performance on asus RT N-16 with version 104. Router boot time increased twice than version 102. openvpn was not working. Had to revert version 102. Is it just me or there are other N-16 users ?
