ok, i know why. Symlink /var/log/messages is still exists. I can remove symlink after unchecking the box. Will add fix to git today.

i tried t 2.31 from repo shibby but when i try to start it I get:
    "/opt/bin/transmission-daemon: can't load library 'libintl.so.3'"

  4. shibby20

    shibby20 Network Guru Member

install gettext package and then copy /opt/lib/libintl.so.0 to /opt/lib/libintl.so.3

    then transmission 2.31 will works.

Symlink /var/log/messages removal did the trick.

I did not try the bw limiter yet, I'm trying to sort out some merge problems.

Tried it - checked, the bw limiter upload limits aren't working when QOS is on. Otherwise, it's almost there. I wondered about using a different chain, but have had no time to try it. Until it works with and is complementary to QOS, I will stick with the IMQ based limiter which works well.

    Hey shibby,

Just wondering if you know when we can expect the next build? Specifically, the one with Transmission 2.31 + your Big build with nothing else removed for RT-N16 users (the one that exceeds 8mb).

    Thanks!

    Bit Torrent

    Hi Shibby20,

I'm testing your last firmware 1.28.0905 MIPSR2-053 K26 USB Mega and bit torrent client is not working anymore, I mean, I can not access GUI page  Is't working for someone else?

    thanks

Confirmed. Transmission is not working in the Mega-VPN 053 build on RT-N16. I have yet to try other builds. I also cleared NVRAM thinking it may have been the problem, but still no dice. I have since flashed back to build 052 Big-BT, and Transmission immediately started working again.

Also in the "about" screen on Mega-VPN, it still says Transmission 2.22 :)

True, my mistake. I will fix it and release new images today.

    yes, no problem.

@CBR900 - please wait. MEGA builds havent included BT binaries (my mistake). Im compiling right now new mega builds. I will tell you when i finish.

    shibby,

Transmission appears to be working now in your updated 053 Mega-VPN Build. However, it appears to still be Transmission 2.22, and not 2.31.. I went into the web-GUI preferences screens, and it says 2.22 (12099) in the lower left corner of them. Also still says 2.22 in the "About" screen.

Is Transmission 2.31 not stable, or am I missing something and 2.31 is actually included? I apologize if I overlooked something.

  16. shibby20

    shibby20 Network Guru Member

yes, new Mega images released. I stay in BT2.22 because 2.31 is 2x large. You can install newest transmission from optware and set "optware" as binaries path :)

Maybe later i will make Mega version with BT2.31.

    BTW:

It seems you did it again shibby, great work. Cant wait to get home and update. However could you please also make a MIPS2 Mini build? For MIPS2 the MiniIPv6 build is the smallest, which is still too large to fit into the WNR2000v2... Maybe you could add the busybox extras too. I was trying myself to compile a custom build, but i kinda failed

    Thanks

Sorry for the dumb question, but am I right in saying your new 053 build is based on Victek's latest of May 29th, so that this:

    tomato-E3000USB-NVRAM60K-1.28.905xRAF-EN-MIPSR2-053-Mega-VPN.bin

    is basically this:

Tomato RAF 1.28.9004.. Specific version for E3000, USB + Extended Sysinfo + VPN + Captive Portal. Updated MAY 29. 2011.

...but with added Bittorrent Client binaries and GUI?

  20. molnart

    molnart Networkin' Nut Member

thank you very much for the mini build, just flashed it and it works flawlessly so far. finally i have extended sysinfo on the WNR2000v2 :)

regarding the custom build, i was following this guide http://tomatousb.org/tut:how-to-build-and-rebuild-tomato-for-total-noobs but i couldnt find any of your builds on the git, only the builds from Toastman, Teddy Bear and some VPN builds. Secondly, i couldnt figure out how to make a custom build. I can make a preset build (like the a, b, c, d etc builds), but i have no idea how can i add/remove individual features like Busybox extras and CIFS. I think i need to edit the makefile somehow, but it was not really self-explaining...

Will be looking forward to this. You could simply name it the RT-N16 Super Mega build or something, and stress that it can only be used with it, As you know, RT-N16 is more than capable of handling such a large firmware :) Any ETA on this?

Is it possible that DLNA is broken in 053 ? Since I flashed to 053, I can't get my PS3 to read the media files anymore. It says DLNA error 2104 when I try to load a video from the router. Note that my videos are connected to the router using an USB external HD. It was working on RAF 8655 which was the firmware I was using before switching to shibby's 053.

I tried deleting and rebuilding miniDLNA database, with no luck. Nothing wants to play...same settings as before and did an NVRAM clear when flashing.

    Anyone ? :(

  26. Badders44

    Badders44 LI Guru Member

It's working fine for me with the settings below but the building of the database seems a little hap-hazard, especially the "Scan Media at Startup". I end up having to "Rescan on next run" to get the files visible via DLNA on my Panasonic TV. The files are on a 16GB USB memory stick connected to the router.

    DLNA.jpg

I really need to confirm all of this though. I'll clear NVRAM and fill in the details from scratch tonight and report back.

im not using DLNA server and i didnt change nothing in minidlna from tomato-git repository well i I see no reason why it would not work.

    Changelog:
    - added multi-clients monitor
    - clientmon doesnt exclude users from bw limiter. User is still limiting.
    - upgrade minidlna from 1.0.19 to 1.0.19.1 (version 1.0.19.3 wont start)
    - few cosmetics changes.

    Feedback welcome.

    Hi Shibby,
Could you make a build with all you need to host web pages (MEGA-VPN+lighthttpd php) on USB HDD on a RT-N16?

  39. shibby20

    shibby20 Network Guru Member

no :) where do you want keep ALL those settings? In nvram? Impossible.

You can simple install lighttpd + php + mysql + phpmyadmin from optware. You only need same usb stick or usb hdd drive ;)

Hi Shibby. I've loaded the new test 054 successfully and without issue :)

I've still got the minor problem where it is not rebuilding the DLNA database on startup when the database is on a mounted USB stick:

    Database Location Custom Path /mnt/sda1/mediadb

From the initial reboot log you can see the DLNA message "Creating new database..."

I just had a quick question.. Why is it that even though the AIO image is 7576k, is it only suitable for the RT-N16? (i.e too big for 8MB flash models) Last time I checked 7576k is less than 8192k (8MB) so shouldn't it still fit in an 8MB flash? Is there some kind of overhead I don't know about? I have an RT-N16 so it doesn't matter either way to me, I was just curious.

    8MB flash chip: 7995392 bytes
7995392 bytes by my calculation is 7808k but in wnr3500l is 400kb less memory
    7808 - 400 = 7408k is max size. Latest AIO (056) is 7564k

  63. GhaladReam

    GhaladReam Network Guru Member

    Ah, thanks for clarifying.

EDIT: Also, shibby, flashed your 056 test AIO build to my RT-N16. Everything seems to be running stable, including Transmission 2.31. I can't comment on minidlna though as I don't use it.

    Thanks again!

Just wanted to say that Transmission 2.31 in testing build 056 appears to be MUCH more stable than 2.22 was. Before, 2.22 would crash after a while if I was downloading/seeding a large (4+GB) torrent, or crash part way through, resulting me needing to restart the router. I downloaded two ~6GB torrents last night and this morning they were done and seeding like champs with no appearance that anything ever crashed.

    Quite happy :)

Loaded 056 and the dlna seems to working correctly now for me. It rebuilds the database on startup which it wasn't doing before. No issues found so far, but I haven't done much with it.

What as the last version of shibby's firmware that worked? That way he knows what version of minidlna to use :)

@baluvee - many users told me that version 1.0.18 of minidlna (is included in tomato build52) works correct with PS3. Is it true? I can compile for you version 056 with minidlna 1.0.18 for test if you want.

    Hi shibby,

I am still experiencing issues with miniDLNA and build056 unfortunately.

Your first build that I tried was build053 and DLNA was broken in it with my PS3. I came from an old RAF firmware (8655 if I'm not mistaken) and miniDLNA was working.

If I remember correctly, a read a user here stating your build 050 was working with DLNA.

If you decide to create a build for DLNA issues with a previous version of miniDLNA, I will gladly test it from my side as well.

Thanks for the support shibby :)

Thanks shibby. I've installed it and rescanning all my media files to be safe.

I might not be able to test it this morning, since I have to go to work. I'll test it tonight, which is about 10-11H from now.

By default in the GUI, the port # of miniDLNA is 0...should it be ? What is the default port of miniDLNA ?

0 is random. I`ll add suffix in next update.

Alright I just tried while it is rebuilding and still get a 2104 error on my PS3.

I decided to give it a go on my X360. Totally forgot that it has a DLNA client...and everything works on my XBox. I can play my movies without any issues.

So the issue seems to be only with the PS3...I'm starting to wonder if it is really tomato/miniDLNA or an update made to the PS3 few weeks ago.

Could you be more specific ? You only restarted the router few times and miniDLNA works ? Doesn't seem really stable to me ...

Just to confirm I had no minidlna problems with 056 and it was the first version to actually rebuild the database on restart as it was supposed to. So, lets not "throw the baby out with the bathwater". 056 is a good working version.
After saying all of that, I'll give 057 AIO a go now and report back soon.

    @baluvee - version 056 has the newest minidlna 1.0.20 ;)

Please test and decide with version of minidlna (1.0.18.2 or 1.0.20) i should leave in final build.

If problem is only on PS3 i think its not a reason to rollback previous version. Propably newer version supports more hardware (TV etc) then older version and has more features and fixes.
In my opinion better choise is the newest version but choise is yours.

I tested my firmware is Tomato Firmware 1.28.0905 MIPSR2-056 K26 USB AIO. Minidlna works on my PS3, so I would appreciate if you can finalize new ROM with minidlna 1.0.20

One "I don't care" my Boxee Box connects just fine via SMB shares. :) And it scans daily directly in the Transmission download folder.

shibby could you add something like a automatic rescan/rebuild of database for miniDLNA? For example, I would like that every day at 5 am the miniDLNA server starts to rebuild the database. Right now i have to do this by my self, wich is really annyoing

    hey mate,

you can use the Scheduler in Tomato to do this...schedule a task at 5AM to rebuild the database :) you'll have to find the command line however...

Hey guys, I've been following all this miniDLNA stuff, so I decided I'd jump on the bandwagon even though I hadn't used it until now. I made a small folder of video files on my USB HDD and enabled it on my RT-N16 running build 056 AIO (the one with the 1.0.20 minidlna version). It has to build a small database first. Both my PS3 and XBOX360 are able to play the files. I actually like this feature and may start using it!

Perhaps the reason why it wasn't working before was 1.0.20 may be incompatible with a database built with an older minidlna?, which the PS3 doesn't like, or somehow your database was corrupt before? Either way I can confirm that miniDLNA 1.0.20 in build 056 works fine on my PS3 and 360.

I will wait for the next build to include 1.0.20 back in it :)

Well, maybe there's something wrong with my network config, but I can't get miniDLNA working on my PS3, either it is 1.18.2 or 1.20.

So shibby, put back 1.20 and I'll try to figure out what's wrong on my side. If I can't find it, I'll just use my X360...lol

Again, thanks for the support shibby :)
