I can't figure this out. As the title says im using the linksys WRT54GL router, im on a wireless connection and i have every firewall turned off on my computer atm. Even the router firewall.

Now, ventrilo came out with a new version and screwed a lot of people over, including me, because they switched udp AND tcp (or something like that). i could connect to the earlier version, but they changed something and prevented me from connecting to the new one. They made this thread explaining it all, but im not sure if it matters.

First, i tried forwarding all the ports with the orginal firmware and eventually stumbled on a few pages saying the firmware was kinda iffy and to try tomato. so i did. still no luck though. im forwarding the ports flagship posted, as well as the port im trying to connect to for vent but its not working. Ive also tried going into DMZ and still can't connect. I've gone through about 8000 help forums with no luck. can anyone help :(

    Hi,

    I reed the link.

You have to use V3.0 Client on v3.0 server. 2.3 client dont work with v3.0 server, because something changed in the protokoll (they use udp to "ping" the server"). Nothing to do for you because WRT54GL have an spi firewall and you turned it off (you haven't to do this!). No portforwarding or something else. only use v3.0 client.

If you have an ISP like your university it could be, they additionaly block udp ports and open only those they knew. But you dont wrote that.

You could read that behind your link! I have no idea what vebtrilo is, but do you use v3 client?
