Trade V5 for V2,3 or 4?

    Anyone adventurous who has an extra pre v5 WRT54G who wold like to trade or trade + cash for an older version?
    Just thinking someone out there has a few and wouldnt mind trading an old one for an almost brand new one.

    good luck with that venture i cannot see ANYONE wanting to trade a WRT54G (linux) for a v5 :) you'd be best sourcing a cheap WRT54GL

    I cant even find a cheap 54GL.
    the best I could find was on newegg for $60
    And I am not sure I trust the people on ebay to really know what they have.
    BTW anyone have a link to thread that has the lists of serial number ranges and the associated router version?

    Your best bet would be to find a computer illiterate neighbor who set up wireless internet years ago, and has a pre-v5 Linksys with stock firmware just doing it's little job in the corner. Unbeknownst to that neighbor of the protential that lies under the hood of that little router.

    They probably wouldn't care. I had a friend who traded his v5 for a v2 that his neighbor had.

    Oh hell, I'll just buy one pre loaded with DD-WRT on Ebay for like $40.
    I guess it looks like those folks know what they are doing.
    How about the one with the pop out SD mod For $130?
    Uh no.
