I got a WKPC54G Linksys Wireless Router and I'm trying to connect it to my girlfriends PC. It's a windows 98 machine. They have roadrunner for their dsl modem. I go to connect it just like the instructions say to. I start by turning everything off. I connect an ethernet cable from the back of the PC into one of the slots in the router, then another cable from the internet port on the back of the modem to the internet port on the back of the router. I turn on ther modem, then turn on the router, then finally turn on the pc. It all comes up fine, then as i got to get on the internet it won't let me. So i tell it to let me work offline. from there i type in my IP address: 192.168.1.x to connect to the router. Now, my laptop has built in wireless and can pick up an excellent strength from the router, but it won't let me get an internet connection. I can't tell you how many times i've reset and unplugged the router and modem like everbody keeps telling me to do, but that's not working. Please Help!
