ok... in my basement there is my computer that runs linux and is connect to the internet via our dsl modem.

our dsl modem is also wireless, so upstairs ive got my mothers computer connected to the internet via a usb linksys wireless network adpater, that connects to the modem downstairs(wusb11 ver.2.8 )

i also have a linksys wireless g 2.4ghz broadband router, that does not have anything plugged into the uplink (i have no more cat 5 )

my problem is, i have to get my dads computer online somehow, he does have a nic card and he has 1 cat 5 cable that will reach to where the router is powerd, in my moms computer room(his computer is also upstairs, next door to my mothers comp room)

i have no idea on how to get him online, my moms comp doesnt have a nic card so i cant give him internet via my moms comp.

is there a way i can connect the router to my dsl modem and then plug him into one of the ports on the back of the router? or is there another way? someone please help

[edit] it may help to tell you that i dont have the cd that came with the router anymore :(

plug the DSL modem into the WAN or Uplink on the linksys router. disable DHCP on the Linksys router and that should be all you need to do. then plug both computers into the Linksys router

Try the client bridge mode setup guide at this site: http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2564#15394

When you are flashing the firmware, be warned the router should be connected to the computer you are flashing the firmware from and the router should be set to factory defaults before the flash. Make certain that your router is being flashed witha firmware the supports the router being flashed. You did not mention, which version of router you have and the make and model number of your modem.
