Can someone help me or post a guide for strengthening the firewall on shibbys firmware for a Netgear WNR3500L v2?

Such a general question is not going to yield much. The default rule set is good, and probably as secure as it can be without knowing specific details. There are many books for the subject.

What are you wanting to accomplish?

What am I trying to accomplish?
To make firewall as strong as possible. I rely on router for protection since I was running software firewall before as well. But I just find too many annoyances and issues with software firewalls.

What jerrm said is pretty much the standard response to such a general question. What, specifically, do you want the firewall to do for you? Without any inkling of an idea about the answer to that, the default firewall is fine for 95% of people running it.
