OK here is my story. I have a new client with an exchange server that is not receiving mail properly. It sends all email and receives 99% of what it is supposed to.Server is fully patched and everything appears to be working OK. Logs do not show these email addressess as being rejected,(no sign at all of them). I am needing to test to see if problem is with server or something else. I have an extra server to troubleshoot with. I also have a 2nd domain that I can point to 2nd server to test problem receiving from certain email addresses.
Here is what I am wanting to try. I have a Class C with a 240 subnet of usable IPs available if needed. I am using Linksys BEFSR41 v4 using PPOE. Static IP's are as follows *.*.*.209 network, 222 router, 223 GW, 224 Broadcast. 12 usable IPs remain available.(210 -221) I have my existing email server MX_record pointed to *.*.*.222. On router I have a LAN setup using /24. Server is, I am forwarding all mail ports to server.
What I would like to do is setup my 2nd server using a different email domain. (one I have that is not being used at this time) and point it to *.*.*. 221 (or any other availbale,210-221). I have a second Linksys BEFSR41 v4 available.
How can I setup router(s) so that I can have two seperate email servers using two different static IPs. Or can this be done some other way?
