I currently have a netgear wgr614 and am looking at buying a wrt54gs and would like to know if I can put my old netgear in my neighbours house and share my internet connection with him. Will the two routers talk to each other in this way. I want the linksys to be the main router (QoS) and the other one to connect to it.

I know its possible, but dont know how to do it. Also, I know its going to be more difficult because there made by diffrent manufacuters.

donno about the netgear, but the linksys would work in wireless repeater or AP mode.
you gotta pair it to the DHCP and connection stuff of your MAIN router, and essentially use your other router either as wireless repeater (if he has WLAN too) or as AP.
    that means client mode.
i suggest you use freeman or some other current firmware.
