    Dear community,

I have two WRT54GS V1.1 routers. One of them is used for my private network including WLAN. Now I am asked to etablish another WLAN segment with internet access.

How do I setup this configuration? It is important, that the second WLAN segment must not have any connection to my private network ...

    Any recommendations appreciated ...

    Best regards,

I would secure the first network with wpa2 and disable the ssid becon, then set up your 2nd network but still looking at the main gateway for internet acces, then on the main router page you can set restrictions, just not allow anything but Internet. The main router will "rout" the traffic only allowing certain devices to acces the private and other the internet.

I think the easiest way to do this it to get another wireless router. Connect the first (public) router to your dsl modem and connect your 2nd route (private) to the first. Make sure you are running the second router as a gateway so it is nat'ing and keep the firewall on. This will give you a public wireless and a private wireless network that should meet your needs.
