Unable to acquire a valid network address

I have a BEFSR11S4-v.4. Lately when I attempt to make a wireless connection with maximum signal strength my laptop attempts to acquire a network address resulting in "limited or no connectivity."

The error message suggests that the problem occurred because "the network did not assign a network address to the computer."

    IPCONFIG / renew doesn't help.

Any suggestions? (And yes, DHCP is enabled and the hardwired computers connect just fine).

    Thanks,

    acquiring address

I can sit 3 feet away and replicate the problem. The issue does not appear to be signal strength.

Incidentally, when I disable WEP the problem goes away but so too does security.

It's down to the WEP key, how are you entering this on the client, as a pass phrase or a list of hex numbers? If it's a pass phrase then re-enter it as the hex equivalent, that should solve the problem :)

    Working now

Thanks for the suggestions. Once again it was a SUE (Stupid User Error).
