I am trying to restrict access to various websites on our office computers using the built-in capabilities in the Linksys BEFSX41. It seems straight-forward enough, but when I put a URL or Keyword in the boxes on the "Restrict Access" page it makes no difference...we can still get on the websites. AIM is a whole other issue, but I want to focus here first. I have tried updating the firmware and rebooting everything, clearing my cache and IE history...nothing works???

I have tried LinkChat for live support on linksys.com but was not able to get anywhere with that...

    Thanks for any ideas!!!

I'm sure you figured this out by now, but for those reading this for the first time, the information could prove useful.

Basically, you must edit the PC's the access list/profile will apply to. Click on the edit button for the PC list and select the box that you want. In my case, I chose all MAC's and IP's.

That is the only way to activate the keywords or the web url filters on the router.

I actually opened up a ticket 080131-008943 the other day and the techs could not help me at all. The told me the router was bad and that I needed to return the defective product. The new one acted just the same, so i knew it was a setting that was missed. Their support team is horrible. The don't even know their own product.
