    Hi!
    I have Linksys WRT54GS with firmware HyperWRT_2.1b1_GS.
I have a Desktop 192.168.1.10 , a wireless notebook 192.168.1.2, router 192.168.1.1 and enabled the DHCP for my friends notebook to connect.
Both Deesktop and notebook running Win XP Pro. I want to enable FTP server on Desktop, Webserver and Remote Desktop Web COnnection on the Notebook.
I installed Webserver , FTP server. I have forwarded port 80, 3389, 20,21 in router web page. and also enabled in Internet Gateway in my Network Connections. Only the Remote Desktop thru client is working. and able to access Remote Mangement for router. FTP and Webpage not accessible. Pls help me.

are you using dyndns.org? they don't let people use linksys router, you have to download a special program from them. they don't let us use our routers because of a bug in the original firmware that reported bad IP addresses to them.

    thank u for ur reply.
I also have service from 2mydns.com . I am able to host a TLD. thats working too. tld routes to ip.
TLD with port no takes me to router remote management.
Also locally i'm unable to connect to FTP server thats on the desktop. it just says connected to and closses.

ok then you may want to try disabling everything you don't need and start renabling things as you go to find the problem, also try doing a long reset(30 secounds) and disable the firewall

nice website! the ftp server should have the ports forwarded to whatever the IP of the machine running the server is at. I don't know the port for remote desktop connection, I would assume that you just forward that port to the machine that you want it to connect to.

If yourFTP server is runing passive mode you have to forward a range of 12 ports from 21 to 33.

somewhere on dyndns.org's new archive I read that because I was having major problems, It always says host name or domain error..... I know for a fact that I entered in everything correct...I think....
