seems like b019 doesn't like to update the DDNS for my dynDNS.org host name for some unknown reason... I download the code.bin and upgrade it through the WUI.

    Thanks.

dyndns isn't updated after 28 days

    Thanks for the topic!

The problem: dyndns isn't updated after 28 days, if the wan-ip hasn't changed.

To solve it the dyndns configuration file is changed, it has an extra line to do an ip-update every 28 days. This change is implemented in the Tarifa b018/b019 and HyperWRT-Thibor 14

I am testing the above solution and I hope(d) it did solve the problem.

Thanks jchuit for your quick reply. My provider in fact updates I.P. address twice everyday at least. And I get new I.P. everytime when I hard reboot my router which I do daily.

And I realized since 12 hrs ago I updated to b019, DDNS doesn't update anymore. Nor do I see any status on the status line on the DDNS page of my router's WUI.

p.s. my ISP changes my IP everyday

    problem found!

Today, I searched to find this problem.

Linksys firmware doesn't provide L2TP and PPTP support for dyndns, this is added in Tarifa b017.

After the L2TP and PPTP support was added, an ipupdate problem in the DHCP section was created.

In Tarifa b020 the DHCP-dyndns problem is corrected.

Re: dyndns isn't updated after 28 days

The ip-update after 28 days does not work in Thibor 13 or 14 I think because the ez-ip udpdate task is not run in daemon mode - see my posts in the Hyperwrt forum

    http://www.linksysinfo.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=14062&p=61849#botpost

As far as I can see you use the same call from ddns.c and have the same issue - and the same solution?

    DDNS update.

    To mstombs

In the latest source code (4.30.2 and 4.70.8) a lot has been changed in the DDNS module in the original firmware , I made a list of the changed files in the Tarifa source code section.

The Tarifa ddns module a nearly the same as in Hyperwrt.
But the LPTP, PPTP and DHCP support differs, and here I made a wrong code line. (One letters was missing in a fprinf command)
The same is the 28 days update cycle, so your dyndns doesn't time out. (I will work further on this issue).

The Tarifa b020 has the old ez-ipupdate (4.30.1), Tarifa b021 will get the more recent from 4.30.2.

    Greetings,
    jchuit
