Upgrade from WRT54G to EA4500 (N900)?

I have a WRT54G v2.0 (CDF5) that worked fine for over a decade, and recently failed (blinking power light).
Went through a Linksys Tech Support chat session, and he concluded I needed a new router after performing some reset steps. (Could be the power adapter flaking out, which we didn't check).

I bought the Linksys N900 (EA 4500): setup was easy, signal looks stronger and things actually appear faster on my home network devices. The firmware has a number of options I didn't have on my WRT54G too.

One thing I'd like is the ability to log router events to a file.
Does WallWatcher work with the N900? Or is there some other way to output logs?

If it was a power adapter issue with the WRT54G, would I be better off getting a new power adapter and flashing custom firmware?
