I've been considering getting an Asus WL-500G Premium because of the higher specs and USB support, but I'm uncertain how extensive the USB drive support is. Without possessing a router with USB functions, it's hard for me to see exactly what can be done. Is it a full featured samba server with the ability to define users, groups, folder permissions, etc.? If so, is there a version that has these features with the great OpenVPN implementation like SergeantPepper's?

Or am i ultimately asking too much out of a router and better off buying a decent NAS and just using the router for vpn?
