Use of the Wireless Network Monitor

I like the Wireless Network Monitor that came with my WUSB54GC but the adapter stops working when it heats up. I picked up an eHome PC Card for $2 (after rebates) and it works quite well. The Wireless Connection Manager that came with it is OK but I like the Linksys one better.

My questions: Is it possible to use the Linksys Monitor with a non-Linksys adapter? If so, how? And/or is there third party monitor/manager software that I could try?

    Thanks!

OK, was this a really stupid question, poorly phrased, hard to answer, or all of the above?

I've searched this site, googled, and experimented with Linksys' Wireless Network Monitor software. I'm not positive but it seems that the Linksys software that came with the WUSB54GC adapter will only work with that adapter. In case anyone cares . . .

In regards to third party software, I tried Boingo's software. It works but I don't find it to be superior to the software that came with the adapter.
