hi i hope someone could help me with this.
i have a 3com office connect wireless 54g router connected to the internet ,
now i want to connect my WRT54GS to the 3com without using cables.
so the 3com stays in the livingroom and the WRT54GS is in the garden and i wont pull cables so it must be wireless but i want internet in the garden.
is there a firmware or a setting that would change my wrt54gs in a ap.
the ewrt firmware is not working for me (gives failed)
and i tried wds but i'm a newbee so :(
    thanx in advance

    yes, there are plenty.

"wireless repeater" is the function you want.

    freeman, sveasoft alchemy, etc etc.

its WDS. WDS is a wireless repeater/bridge function. Try and follow one of the tutorials for whichever firmware you are using. The problem may be incompatibility between the 3com and linksys. Does your 3com support WDS?

is just search in the website of 3com and it does not support wds :( .

    screw WDS.

with Freeman, set your wireless operation mode to "client-bridge" thats what you need.

normally, you then attach it to a wireless network, and get going :)
