Using 2 routers on same subnet?

I recently purchased a new Netgear router (wndr3700). This replaced a Buffalo with Tomato router. I really miss the bandwidth monitor. The Netgear does log bandwidth but it's nowhere near as elegant as the Tomato version. So....I was thinking.....can I add the Buffalo router (after I disable dhcp and the wlan) to my network so it's passing Internet traffic through and onto the other router?

Yes you can - just disable DHCP on the second router and don't use the WAN port on the second router.

I was in the exact same situation, since my wan speed was slow, I used a Buffalo Tomato as the router & the wndr3700 as an AP + giga switch for my internal net. Plus the remaining Buffalo lan ports for my slower stuff.

Anyhow, I've since upgraded the Buffalo to an x86-based router... Sure wish Tomato can run on a wndr3700... :)
