I have a WAP54G and I was trying to set it up as a repeater for a WRT54GS and I am pretty sure it is not working. I know the instructions say it only works with a WRT54G. Is that my problem, I tend not to read into thing too literal in manuals because things change. If this is true, I am sure there is third part software out there fore the WAP so i can use it as a repeater. Anyone have any ideas?

umm... trying not to sound like a linksys technician... anyway, check out www.linksys.com/kb, search for answer ID 231 which is an article 'Setting up a WAP54G as a wireless repeater with a WRT54G'. The same steps apply for the WRT54GS. No worries since WAP54G works as repeater for both WRT54G and WRT54GS routers.

The instructions for the WAP54G are not always accurate. It will work with a WAP54G and WRT54G. Some people have reported it works with the WRT54GS. It requires a firmware version greater than 2.08 on the WAP54G. Be careful in upgrading the firmware on the WAP54G, you have to reset the WAP54G to factory defaults before and after the firmware upgrade and fo the firmware upgrade from a wired connection only.
