using cable gateway for DSL connection

    we used to have cable modem service, and to "save money" went with a local DSL provider.

    we've got one machine upstairs (where the router is) and another downstairs.

    i <<was using>> a wcg200 quite wonderfully. I'd like to see if there's a way to perhaps get one of the wired ethernet connections to connect to the <<free and wonderful>> shit-DSL modem. i'd like not to have to buy another piece of hardware, and i'm not quite afraid of perform firmware surgery (not hardware surgery, though).
