Using router mode

    This is my problem

Whenever my roommates and I try to use Xbox live at the same time It is very slow and gets strange errors. If only one xbox 360 is on there are no problems. I have tried disabling QOS and even restoring defaults neither fixes the problem. Port forwarding wont work either because there are multiple xbox 360s that require the same port.

In some forums people are saying that changing the mode (in the routing settings) to router mode will fix this. However, when I change the mode to router mode almost nothing works. Computers cannot browse the web, and many applications do not work. If you try to ping google.com the DNS works (it correctly resolves google's ip), but you get no response. I tried restoring defaults and then turning on router mode with all default settings and that did not work either.

I should also note that using a different router (D-Link DI-624) fixes the Xbox live problems, so It is not my ISP.

Any thoughts? Has anyone else had this problems before, or has anyone ever used router mode before?

    Thanks much for your help

Is you do not have the right QOS settings setup properly when enabled. It can cause an issue. UPnP is best to use when using multiple 360's. With static ip's. Never had an issue with that setup before. Port forwarding is not going to cut it using multiple 360's. Since they use the same port. You need UPnP enabled to work properly.
