    Hi all,

I'm currently using a Netgear DG834G on my ADSL connection but should hopefully have a WRT54GL v1.1 arriving in the post tomorrow. I presume it'll work fine to begin with if I just connect its WAN port to one of the LAN ports on the Netgear and give it a static/dynamic LAN IP? It's just that I'd like to tinker around with the device first, trying alternative firmware (looking at DD-WRT and X-Wrt to begin with), my eventual aim is to replace the Netgear completely after buying a separate modem.

Keep an eye out for me here, I'm sure to be lurking with the odd question or two once my shiny new toy arrives, please be nice to the newbie :)

It should be straight forward unless your netgear happens to be giving out the same nat ip range as the wrt.

Thanks ifican, I'll make sure I configure it to use a different subnet. Just need the postie to deliver the thing now...
